Il NU, Museo delle Narrazioni Urbane, è un luogo dove vengono raccolte, conservate e raccontate le storie di coloro che hanno vissuto questa terra.
Le testimonianze sono messe a disposizione del pubblico come testi, immagini, audio e video; in forma di intervista, reportage, canzone, podcast e qualsiasi altro formato consenta di consegnare al futuro il patrimonio di conoscenza legato alle esperienze degli individui e delle comunità.
Qui si può indagare la vita vissuta tanto attraverso il materiale digitale consultabile con lo smartphone attraverso l'APP di NU, quanto sfogliando un vecchio quaderno di ricette scritto con grafia incerta.
NU inoltre è un archivio digitale che permetterà alle persone di mettere al sicuro le proprie storie, tramandandole così al futuro.
NU è il fuoco intorno al quale le nostre comunità si raccontano per tramandare conoscenze alle generazioni future. Qui i racconti mantengono vive le voci che conducono le storie degli individui fino al nostro continuo presente, conservando il potere di connetterci l’un l’altro, colmando solitudini e favorendo resilienza e speranza.
La cura del tempo, scandito sulla linea sottile che intreccia leggende, inconsapevoli eroi, sconfitte e rivalse, qui si fa Genius Loci.
Affinché nessuna storia venga lasciata indietro, offuscata dalla nebbia delle grandi narrazioni perché abbiamo tutti una storia da raccontare.

NU, Museum of Urban Narrations, is a place where the stories of those who have lived this land are collected, preserved and told.
The testimonies are made available to the public as texts, images, audio and video; in the form of interviews, reports, songs, podcasts and any other format that allows the heritage of knowledge, linked to the experiences of individuals and communities, to be handed down to the future.
Here you can investigate the life lived both through the digital material that can be consulted with your smartphone by the NU APP, and by leafing through an old recipe book written in uncertain handwriting.
NU is also a digital archive that will allow people to secure their stories, thus passing them on to the future.
NU is like a fire around which our communities tell their stories to pass on knowledge to future generations. Here, tales keep alive the voices that carry the stories of individuals to our continuous present, preserving the power to connect us to each other, bridging loneliness and fostering resilience and hope.
The care of time, marked on the thin line that intertwines legends, unwitting heroes, defeats and revenge, here becomes Genius Loci.
So that no story is left behind.

La mappa tattile
Vicino alla porta dell'ascensore è disponibile una mappa tattile per meglio orientarsi nello spazio del museo.
La colonna che parla
Intorno all'unica colonna presente, un'installazione tattile elenca una lunga serie di parole che hanno a che fare con il senso del raccontare storie.
La Linea del Tempo
Sulla parete est del Museo, è stampata una cronologia che va dal primo '900 fino al 2025, spingendosi idealmente fino al 2125, anno in cui verrà aperta la Capsula del Tempo. All'interno della grafica cronologica, alcuni Tag NFC conducono l'utente all'ascolto di Podcast audio e agli audio racconti delle novelle realizzate appositamente per questo progetto. Le fotografie sono posizionate sulla linea del tempo (che si legge da destra a sinistra) mentre un immaginato skyline della città di Pescara, scorre come una nave sul fiume del tempo, della storia e della memoria.

The tactile map
A tactile map is available near the elevator door to help you find your way around the museum.
The speaking column
Around the only column present, a tactile installation lists a long series of words that have to do with the meaning of telling stories.
The Timeline
On the east wall of the Museum, a timeline is printed that goes from the early 1900s to 2025, ideally extending to 2125, the year in which the Time Capsule will be opened. Within the chronological graphics, some NFC Tags lead the user to listen to audio Podcasts and audio stories of the short stories created specifically for this project. The photographs are positioned on the timeline (which is read from right to left) while an imagined skyline of the city of Pescara flows like a ship on the river of time, history and memory
La Capsula del tempo
Una Capsula del Tempo è un sistema per inviare nel futuro ciò che siamo e viviamo nel tempo presente. Il giorno dell'inaugurazione del Museo NU è stato sigillato un contenitore in metallo riempito di una serie di oggetti diversi: alcune giovani e coraggiose ragazze e ragazzi hanno accettato con entusiasmo la proposta di scrivere una lettera al futuro, chi raccontando come potrebbe essere il mondo tra cento anni, chi interrogando direttamente il futuro come fosse un compagno di viaggio: un libro di ricette Abruzzesi, fotografie della città e del territorio, prodotti dell'artigianato legati alla tradizione locale, come una neola in ceramica, alcune copie dei più diffusi quotidiani locali, un paio di registrazioni di musica colta e popolare espressa da musicisti che vivono sul territorio, una mappa delle città, due bottiglie di vino, copie di foto antiche, alcune copie di menu di ristoranti e trattorie locali e una copia del certificato Not Forgotten rilasciato dall'Università di Oglethorpe, ad Atlanta, presso l'International Time Capsule Society (ITCS), un'organizzazione fondata nel 1990 per promuovere lo studio delle capsule del tempo. La Capsula del Tempo potrà essere aperta solo tra cento anni e cioé nel 2125. Nessuno di noi può sapere che sarà stato del nostro modo di vivere, delle nostre usanze e tradizioni tra cento anni ma la Capsula del Tempo, sì. E potrà mostrare ai posteri un piccolo ma significativo squarcio di ciò che eravamo oggi.
The Time Capsule
A Time Capsule is a system for sending into the future what we are and live in the present time. On the day of the inauguration of the NU Museum, a metal container filled with a series of different objects was sealed: some young and courageous girls and boys enthusiastically accepted the proposal to write a letter to the future, some describing how the world could be in a hundred years, some directly questioning the future as if it were a traveling companion: a book of Abruzzo recipes, photographs of the city and the territory, handicrafts linked to local tradition, such as a ceramic neola, some copies of the most popular local newspapers, a couple of recordings of classical and popular music performed by musicians who live in the area, a map of the cities, two bottles of wine, copies of old photos, some copies of menus of local restaurants and trattorias and a copy of the Not Forgotten certificate issued by Oglethorpe University, in Atlanta, to the International Time Capsule Society (ITCS), an organization founded in 1990 to promote the study of time capsules. The Time Capsule(2) can only be opened in a hundred years, that is, in 2125. None of us can know what our way of life, our customs and traditions will be like in a hundred years, but the Time Capsule can. And it will be able to show posterity a small but significant glimpse of what we were today.
La lavagna della memoria
La lavagna è una superficie nera al cui centro si colloca un reperto: una foto ritrovata, uno scritto o un ritaglio di giornale su cui vogliamo investigare per arrivare a capirne epoca, luogo, personaggi. Possiamo farlo attraverso l'osservazione, la ricerca biblio fotografica, le domande fatte a conoscenti, parenti e professori o chiunque possa essere a conoscenza di informazioni utili a far luce sull'evento indagato. Penna e post-it aiuteranno a visualizzare le diverse informazioni che andranno via via a costruire il quadro generale della nostra indagine. È l'ora di andare a sfogliare gli album delle nostre storie con un altro spirito!
The memory blackboard
The blackboard is a black surface with a relic at its center: a rediscovered photo, a writing or a newspaper clipping that we want to investigate to understand its era, place, characters. We can do this through observation, photographic library research, questions asked to acquaintances, relatives and teachers or anyone who may be aware of useful information to shed light on the event being investigated. A pen and post-it will help to visualize the different pieces of information that will gradually build the general picture of our investigation. It's time to go and browse through the albums of our stories with a different spirit!
